Congresswoman Debbie Lesko is running for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors

West Valley Councillor Debbie Lesco announced on Tuesday that she was running. Seats on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.

She previously voted to overturn the presidential election results, with a Republican-led board being accused of manipulation.

Lesco was approved by former President Donald Trump in 2022 after joining 146 other Republicans in the vote to overturn the 2020 election in the favor of Trump.

Retiring Republican superintendent Clint Hickman said he has not discussed it with Lesco but has given her credit for calling him instead of signing a letter with other Arizona Republicans questioning how the county runs the election.

“She picked up the phone and said, ‘I’m not in the gut, I don’t think this is right.’ And she didn’t sign the letter, so that means everything to me,” recalls Hickman.

He said he has no support, adding that his resignation is to spend more time with his family.

Lesko did not respond to requests for comment.

The board, made up of four Republicans and one Democrat, was denounced by Trump’s allies and accused of committing fraud in the favor of Biden.

An audit of the county vote reinforced the fact that Biden won.
