Filed a lawsuit against Arizona Attorney General Chris Mays (D) on behalf of Mohave County Supervisor Ron Gould (in his personal capacity). The lawsuit alleges that Mayes' letter to the Mohave County Commission “influenced the voting process and the ultimate vote” and “intimidated” the plaintiffs in violation of Arizona law.
On November 19, 2023, Mr. Mays sent a letter to the board informing them that counting ballots by hand violates Arizona law. The board ultimately voted 3-2 not to hand count the ballots. In the lawsuit, one of the supervisors alleges that Mays intimidated the board and ultimately changed the vote. The plaintiffs argue that this practice violates Arizona law and are asking the court to declare that the use of voting machines, rather than hand counting, is voluntary and not mandatory. Plaintiffs also argued that the court's findings in another case apply only to conducting a complete hand audit (votes by hand after voting machines have counted them) and therefore do not apply to conducting a complete hand count. I am asking you to give me an order. (Initial counting is done without tabulator).
