MARICOPA COUNTY, Arizona — A woman charged in connection with the death of her adopted son in Buckeye has been extradited from Georgia to Arizona.
Crystal Wilson, 54, has been charged with disposing of and concealing a body in connection with the death of her adopted son, Jesse Wilson.
Wilson was incarcerated at the Maricopa County Jail on Friday after being arrested in Gainesville, Georgia on December 12, 2022. She is currently being held on $50,000 bail.
According to the Buckeye Police Department, Wilson told police his missing 10-year-old son had run away from home on the night of July 18, 2016, after putting him to bed.
Multiple searches involving several law enforcement agencies and volunteers were conducted against Jesse, but his body was not found until almost two years later.
On March 8, 2018, a body containing bones, skull fragments, and a shirt was found on the side of the road near California Route 85 and Broadway Road. Three weeks later they were identified as Jesse Wilson.
Police said forensic authorities were unable to determine the boy’s cause and cause of death.
