The Yuma County Board of Supervisors proudly announces the appointment of Delisa Ashley Jones as the new Yuma County Library District Director.

Ms. Jones replaces former Library District Director Lisa M. Mendez and brings her extensive experience and passion for library services to the role.

“I am very excited to see Ashley in this position. Her four years of service as Deputy Librarian has prepared her well and she promises to make a significant contribution to the good of libraries across the county.” County Administrator Ian McGaughey said.

Ashley Jones, who has lived in Yuma since 2015, has been an integral part of the Yuma County Library District for more than five years.

She has demonstrated her commitment to the community through a variety of roles within the Library, most notably serving as Deputy Director for the past four years. Jones earned her bachelor's degree in English in 2012, followed by her master's degree in library and information science in 2018, equipping her with a strong foundation for leadership in library services.

Jones has actively participated in numerous library and county projects, demonstrating a commitment to advancing library resources and programs. Her passion for innovation leads her to continually seek new and exciting opportunities to improve the library experience for Yuma County residents.

Mr. Jones expressed his excitement for the opportunity to lead the Yuma County Library District into its next chapter of growth and evolution. “Libraries have been a part of my life since I was a little girl in a small town. Books have allowed me to have thousands of adventures without ever leaving the house,” Jones said. “I am excited about the opportunity to help the library grow and evolve while continuing the great services it provides to Yuma County.”

Delisa Ashley Jones' passion for library services and track record of leadership positions her to lead the Yuma County Library District to continued success in meeting the needs of the community.
