Dem 2024 Candidate Accuses Major Network Of Blackballing Him At Behest Of Biden Campaign

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips accused MSNBC of blackballing him in the wake of President Joe Biden's campaign, according to Politico.

Phillips challenged Biden in the primary and also expressed frustration with the state Democratic Party and the Democratic National Committee (DNC), which removed him from the ballot. He is now accusing the Biden campaign of preventing people from going to his events, supporting him and getting him on stage. Said Friday's Politico. “I know of specific cases where representatives of the Biden campaign made it very clear to others that they would not attend my events, that they would not support me, that they would not support me.” declared Mr. Phillips. “This is almost antithetical to the principles of democracy, which involve discussion, deliberation, and ultimately compromise.”

Biden campaign spokesman TJ Ducklo told Politico that Phillips' accusations were “lol.”

Phillips leads Biden nationally by more than 60 points. according to compared to the RealClearPolitics average. Phillips has been featured several times on CNN and has been welcomed by conservative media outlets, but he was particularly critical of MSNBC's handling of the issue.

“The right-wing media is more than inviting,” Phillips told Politico. “I don't think anyone who watches MSNBC knows that I'm a member of Congress because the content depicted is designed to discourage that kind of education.”

Phillips' campaign, the Biden campaign and MSNBC did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
