Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas on Wednesday alleged that former President Donald Trump and Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio encouraged “domestic terrorism” by discussing the impact of a large influx of Haitian migrants into Springfield, Ohio.

“I'd like to know if any of you know if the FBI is involved in looking into what's going on in Springfield, Ohio. As far as I know, there's a domestic terrorism going on and it's coming from the words of the Republican candidate and his running mate,” Crockett said. “Do you know if anyone at the federal level is looking into that? I'm interested. Answer yes or no. Is there anybody?”
One witness responded that he didn't know if the FBI was looking into anything, to which Crockett replied, “OK, perfect.”
Springfield residents told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the city is struggling to cope with an influx of roughly 20,000 immigrants, causing traffic accidents and rising home prices. Local pastor Baron Seelig told the DCNF that the arrival of Haitian immigrants has “invaded” his “sleepy” city, making it harder for Springfield's homeless to find a place to live.
Residents blame the Biden administration's border policies for the city's woes, and data obtained by the DCNF shows Springfield has seen an increase in crimes such as car theft and shoplifting since migrants arrived.
