Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign plans to cut more than a third of its staff, Politico reported Tuesday.
A total of 38 job cuts are planned. according to to the outlet. The job cuts include 10 event planning jobs and the previously reported retirement of campaign strategists Dave Abrams and Tucker Obenshine, the report said.
“After a thorough review of our organization, we have streamlined our operations and taken additional and aggressive steps to put Ron DeSantis in the most powerful position to win this primary and defeat Joe Biden.
The reported job cuts come as the DeSantis campaign shifts its strategy after weak polls.
The Governor of Florida currently has an average of 18% support. according to The share for Real Clear Politics has decreased from over 30% in January.
The DeSantis campaign did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller.
