Democratic Strategist Reacts to Republican Insights on Trump
Democratic strategist Karen Finney found humor in Scott Jennings’ remarks about a meeting focused on strategies against President Donald Trump.
Trump achieved the necessary 270 electoral votes in the early hours of November 6th, defeating Kamala Harris in the 2024 election with a tally of 322 to 226. Finney recounted details from the meeting, which featured notable Trump critic Bill Kristol.
Jennings, reflecting on the meeting, said, “I don’t think we can ignore former Republican Lt. Gov. Jeff Duncan of Georgia. Although it was a divided gathering, many who opposed Trump were present. I recall sitting there discussing how to beat Trump. How did that turn out?”
Notably, Trump maintained an 87% approval rating within his party, according to an opinion survey conducted by YouGov from July 4th to July 7th. Kristol, known as a Trump opponent and editor of a publication, had identified as a Democrat during Trump’s first term. In the elections of 2020 and 2024, various anti-Trump voices, despite claiming conservatism, reportedly profited millions through the Lincoln Project.
“What do you know, Scott?” Finney commented before Jennings chuckled.
Recently, Trump has enjoyed a series of successes, such as signing a settlement bill and achieving a Supreme Court victory regarding a national injunction, alongside measures related to bureaucratic operations and deportations.
Additionally, the United States conducted attacks on locations in Fordou, Natanz, and Isfahan on June 22, linked to Iran’s nuclear weapon developments.
