Donald Trump Reveals FIFA World Cup Draw Will Be Held At Kennedy Center

Trump Announces 2026 World Cup Draw Location

President Donald Trump has revealed that the draw for the 2026 World Cup will take place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, on December 5.

During the announcement, made alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office, Trump highlighted the significance of the event, which will pair all qualified teams for the competition.

“We’ve brought FIFA President Gianni Infantino back to the White House and we’re excited about this major announcement regarding one of the most awaited tournaments in sports,” Trump stated.

“This is monumental. I’m thrilled to host it. The 2026 FIFA World Cup—it’s going to be a big deal, one of the largest events in the sport,” he added.

Trump further noted, “The draw will be held at the Kennedy Center on December 5 this year. Some might refer to it as the Trump Kennedy Center, but that’s not quite official yet. In a week or so, this is a fantastic honor to showcase this global event and celebrate the best athletes from around the world right here in our nation’s cultural hub.”

Following this announcement, Trump mentioned, “We just left the Kennedy Center. We’re investing wisely to enhance its beauty. It’s going to look wonderful again.”

Earlier, Trump had appointed himself as chair of the Kennedy Center board, succeeding former chair David M. Rubenstein, and has worked on revamping the venue’s programming.
