Yuma, Arizona (Kyma, Kecy) – Save your life this summer! One of Arizona’s major blood donors is that future blood draws require more blood donors.
It supplies 62 hospitals in Arizona, including Yuma County. Vitalant says it needs more than 600 blood donors every day. They see blood donations fall during the holidays and during the summer.
“We’re struggling to collect blood here in the summer. We’re going to collect much less blood donations because all high schools are out during the summer and in fact one in six blood donors comes from teenage donors, so we’re going to collect much less blood donations.” “And college is also a massive source of blood donors, so now we’re graduating from school. So we really need the help of the community to support our blood supply.”
