Republican presidential candidate and Florida governor Ron DeSantis pledged on Friday to “round up” on high-profile issues such as border security, the response to the coronavirus pandemic and education issues.
DeSantis outlined his policy vision at the 2024 Iowa Republican Lincoln Dinner. He called for a stronger response to the border crisis, punishment of the bureaucrats behind the coronavirus lockdown, and stronger parental rights regarding education. He promised to reject environmental policies such as the Green New Deal because Americans “do not want to help their enemies.” DeSantis argued that Americans should rather pursue energy independence. “As president, I pledge to finally settle the southern border issue,” DeSantis said. “We are sending troops to the border. Yes, we will build a border wall and use lethal force against the Mexican drug cartels because they are killing our children.” Because I’m sick of poisoning them, I’m sick of them killing my people, and I’m sick of them trafficking into this country.”
He also said there would be severe penalties for those behind the coronavirus lockdown.
“We will start liquidating people like Dr. Fauci who implemented COVID-19 lockdown and enforcement policies. Those policies were devastating to this country. They hurt people. They’re hurting our economy and we’re not yet fully recovered from that economy,” DeSantis said, arguing that Fauci should be sacked.
“We will ensure that parents in this country have a fundamental right to direct the upbringing and well-being of their children. Schools and institutions are important, but they take precedence over parental rights. We want education in this country, not indoctrination in this country, we’ve done it in Florida, but we need to do it nationally. said DeSantis.
He then shot Vice President Kamala Harris, who repeatedly criticized Florida’s educational standards on black history. Harris contends that state standards that require guidance on how blacks can use the skills they learned during slavery to their own advantage falsify the history of slavery.
“And we have Kamala Harris come to Florida and try to make up a false narrative because she understands that Florida is going against leftist policies. We are the leftists in Florida. policy so she thinks we can lie about what we’re doing in Florida don’t even move we’re against these people “We will fight back. And we will not let them take over our schools anymore. We as a nation will get this right,” DeSantis said.
