YUMA, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) responded to reports of Sunday’s car accident.

YCSO also said the crash occurred near Route 95 and Mile Marker 7 at around 4:38 am.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that a black 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and a silver 2018 Honda Civic were involved in the crash.

While traveling south, the Santa Fe veered into the northbound lane and collided with a Civic.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the Yuma Civic, 34-year-old Joshua Bingham, was fatally injured and died at the scene. YCSO has since notified the next of kin.

Meanwhile, the Santa Fe driver and passenger were seriously injured and were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) by paramedics.

So far, the case is ongoing, and alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
