The craft, known as an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing), is expected to begin commercial flights as early as next year.

That's reassuring. While your vacation flight to Florida might not fall out of the sky, if you run into trouble while you're there, don't expect to be rescued. As Axios points out, “When a hurricane knocks out the power, your charging stations won't work, so you'll need backup power.”

Well, the federal government, of course. The Department of Health and Human Services has already committed $20 million to building charging stations on the South Coast. Now imagine how much the planes themselves would cost.
