‘Enough!’: Bernie Sanders Goes To Bat For Biden, Says Dems Need To ‘Stop Bickering And Nit-Picking’

Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders said in a New York Times op-ed published Saturday that he will continue to support President Joe Biden in the 2024 election.

Sanders, who ran against Biden in the 2020 Democratic nomination race, acknowledged the president was “old, gaffes-ridden, has an awkward gait and his debate with Trump was a disaster,” but called on Democrats to support Biden, the party's presumptive nominee. “Yet for over two weeks, the mainstream media has been relentlessly focused on June's presidential debate and the cognitive abilities of the man who has arguably the most difficult and stressful job in the world,” Sanders wrote. “They have frantically searched for every person who no longer supports the president and every neurologist who wants to appear on television. Unfortunately, too many Democrats have joined that firing squad.”
