Senate Judicial Republicans are calling for accountability for taxpayers who have drafted the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Initiative bill under former President Joe Biden.
Iowa Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, Utah’s Mike Leesen, Texas’s Ted Cruz and Florida’s Ashley Moody wrote letters Thursday to the Government’s Office of Accountability (GAO) asking nonpartisan watchdogs to conduct an audit of DOJ’s day practices under the Beden Harris administration. The senator asked them to investigate how much time and money was spent enforcing the time and money that fixed the Biden administration’s executive order across the federal government, according to a letter obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. EO also called for federal agencies to develop individual “strategic plans” to advance DEI priorities. “GAO needs to consider the time and money that DOJ is dedicated to these efforts,” the senator wrote.
