A group of House Republicans led by Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry introduced a bill Thursday that would cut funding to the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the bill, titled the Davos Funding Act. Among other things, this bill would prevent the State Department, USAID, and other federal agencies from funding the (WEF). The United States has spent tens of millions of dollars over the years on the WEF, which Perry and other Republicans say needs to end.
“It goes without saying that forcing American taxpayers to fund an annual ski trip for an island nation's global elite is absurd and reprehensible,” Perry said in the bill. He previously told the Kohler newspaper. “The World Economic Forum will not receive a penny of funding from the United States. The time to cut funding to Davos is over.” (Related: World Economic Forum avoids major left-wing buzzwords — just one problem)

“Wealthy WEF globalists should not receive Americans' hard-earned tax dollars,” the bill's original co-sponsor, Rep. Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin, said in a statement. “The Davos Endowment Fund Repeal Act will ensure that U.S. tax dollars will not fund the World Economic Forum and the Reset of our Way of Life. Thank you Congressman Perry for leading this important effort .” (Related: 'Funny': Heritage Foundation leader slams World Economic Forum during Davos)
Perry was joined as co-sponsors by Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, Tennessee Rep. Diana Hershberger, Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles and Montana Rep. Matt Rosendale.
