X's post, which has been viewed over 200 times at the time of writing, claims that The Economist removed the Palestinian flag from a recent cover featuring Bangladesh. “The Economist has photoshopped the Palestinian flag out of an image of Bangladesh, making their loyal readers literally fools,” part of the post reads.
The post includes two images, one purportedly showing the cover without the Palestinian flag, and another with the flag visible, both of which appear to show protesters gathered in Bangladesh.

August 12th, Miss Bar The outlet said the claim was misleading and that the images were traced back to Getty Images. The outlet also noted that the two images featured in X's post were “separate” from one another and “taken at different times.”[s]The media outlet also reiterated that The Economist had not edited the images.
Furthermore, The Economist has not commented on the claims made in X's post. Website or verified Social media account.
