This video was shot in Mumbai, India. There is no “Western Express Highway” in Tampa.

A video circulating on Facebook purports to show traffic jams on Tampa’s Western Exp Highway. The clip, shot from an elevated position inside a building, shows a car traveling several miles down a road flooded with what looks like brown water.

However, this clip is misleading. This footage actually shows Mumbai, India, not Tampa. Also, there is no “Western Highway” or “Western Highway” in Tampa. (Related: Video showing Hurricane Milton’s path was actually a video game clip)

Mumbai has the Western Express Highway, which actually experienced flooding recently. The area was hit by heavy rains in late September 2024, and that’s when the original video was posted by Instagram user “laljipatel.”
