Fact check:

Social media users claim that footage shows Beirut airport on fire and a passenger plane flying over it. “A Middle East Airlines plane landed at Hariri International Airport,” one user wrote. #Beirut in the midst of an Israeli military attack. only #Lebanon 💔…”

This claim is false. Original image shared by Instagramreveals that it is displaying images generated by AI. The caption reads, “Here is an AI-generated photo depicting a real situation.”

BBC Verify reporter Shayan Sardarizadeh also said: Error exposed Claim made in a tweet on October 20th. (Related: Did Tesco and Shell intend to power 100,000 homes with energy from solar farms?)
