According to reports, the Houthis claimed to have targeted the Lincoln and two destroyers in separate attacks on November 12. BBC News. The Pentagon confirmed that two destroyers were attacked by drones and missiles, but said the attack was defeated and no one was hit, the report said.

Social media users are sharing videos of the ship on fire, claiming to show the Lincoln. “The footage purports to show the aftermath of a Yemeni resistance attack on the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln by multiple cruise missiles and drones in the Arabian Sea,” one user wrote.

Through reverse images and keywords searchCheck Your Fact found that the video likely shows the USS Bonhomme Richard. The warship was located in San Diego and was not hit by missiles while at anchor.

“An explosion and fire aboard a ship at a naval base in San Diego on Sunday left more than 20 people with minor injuries, military officials said. The fire was aboard the battleship Bonhomme, Navy Pacific Fleet spokesman Mike Rainey said. It was reported just before 9 a.m. on the Richard. Rainey said four civilians and 17 sailors were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” the video description reads.

There is no evidence that the Houthis attacked the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.
