Verdict: False
There is no evidence for this assertion: page 451 does not say that only families with a working father and a stay-at-home mother are “valid families.”
Fact check:
Vice President Kamala Harris attacked Project 2025 on July 21, linking it to former President Donald Trump. Business InsiderAccording to the media, President Trump has so far distanced himself from initiatives led by the Heritage Foundation.
Social media users have argued that “Project 2025,” found on page 451 of “A Mission to Leadership,” states that “the only family that works is a working father married to a stay-at-home mother and their children.”
This claim is false. Check Your Fact reviewed 451 pages. Leadership MissionThere is no mention of “working families” in the Goal 451. Part of the section on the Department of Health and Human Services, page 451 is mostly about “Promoting Stable and Prosperous Married Families” and “Goal 4: Preparedness for the Next Health Emergency.”

The basis for this argument may lie in calls to promote married families. For example, A Mission to Leadership states, “These policies should be repealed and replaced with policies that support the formation of stable, married, nuclear families. Working fathers are essential to a child's well-being and development, yet America faces a crisis of father absence that is undermining our children's futures.”
But the provision does not say that only couples consisting of a working father and a stay-at-home mother are valid families. A Project 2025 spokesman confirmed that this claim is false. (Related: Did Joe Biden say his account was hacked after he withdrew from the election?)
