Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich went on Fox News on Monday to detail the Democratic Party's “big problems” as the 2024 election approaches, and Democratic California Gov. Gavin tried to save President Joe Biden's campaign. – Blamed Newsom.
Mr. Gingrich appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” to discuss the issues Democrats currently face with voters, as the border crisis, economy and other issues continue to be issues. Fox host Laura Ingraham asked the former Republican House speaker's thoughts on Democrats appearing to use Newsom as a way to “help” Biden's campaign. (Related: Trump leads Biden more than ever)
Gingrich called Democrats in “huge trouble” as the 2024 election approaches and detailed the recent Rasmussen report: investigated An estimated 940 voters overwhelmingly supported Texas in the federal-state contest.
“Well, the Democrats have a big problem. For example, Mr. Rasmussen said today that 69% of Americans side with Texas and only 27% side with the federal government. These things are real. This is not Newsom harboring any illusions as a former San Francisco mayor. This is the American people saying this administration is a failure. We're failing at our jobs. And as you've so beautifully pointed out before, we're failing to protect our troops overseas,” Gingrich said.
Mr. Gingrich continued to criticize Mr. Newsom, saying that not only was Mr. Newsom living in a “fantasy land,” but also that Mr. Biden would not be able to defend himself on “so many different fronts.” Ta. “And Newsom, he was again — he was getting a little carried away — he was the mayor of San Francisco. He lives in Fantasyland. So whatever he wants to say, I can tell you, but the truth is, no one can defend Joe Biden because his record in so many different areas is somewhere between shameful and deplorable. Because they are deaf,” Gingrich said.
Newsom recently appeared on ABC's “This Week” to voice support for Biden and tout his accomplishments. During the interview, Newsom pushed back against a question about whether Biden's age had a negative impact on his job.
“We're all spending time with Biden, which means three hours a day at three events taking pictures and then giving a speech. Are you kidding me? At 80 years old and in such good health? Are you there? I have no problem with that,” Newsom said.
