The famous actress spoke about the nature of her job in her upcoming memoir, Dinner for Vampires, and recalled an awkward conversation she had with her manager hours before the show’s final chemistry test. Despite the warning, Lentz signed on to play Haley James Scott on One Tree Hill for nine seasons.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the famous actress was raised in evangelical Christianity and had previously turned down less explicit roles, but she didn’t want to give up on the opportunity that was presented to her.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lentz said she found solace in playing the role of the “awkward girl next door,” whom she perceived as the “sanest” member of the main cast.
“I felt little danger of being objectified,” she wrote in her memoir.
“I believed in this show and its ability to deliver a meaningful and uplifting message to viewers.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lentz remained on the show until the end, but claimed that the “shit and disgusting” comments kept coming back to him every time he tried to push back against some of the show’s content.
