Florida AG Accuses FEMA Of Bias Against Trump Supporters In New Lawsuit

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced Thursday that she has filed a lawsuit against the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), alleging discrimination against hurricane victims who supported President-elect Donald Trump.

Moody filed a lawsuit against FEMA Administrator DeAnne Criswell and former FEMA supervisors for violating the civil rights of Floridians in their responses to Hurricane Helen in September and Milton in October. lawsuit claim FEMA officials reportedly intentionally avoided aid to Trump supporters in Lake Placid, Florida.

Marni Washington, leader of the Highlands County Disaster Survivor Assistance Crew, was identified as the director of the command, according to the Daily Wire, which shared a flowchart showing the leadership structure.

FEMA says it has terminated Washington and the case has been referred to the Office of Special Counsel for further investigation, Reuters reported. The US government said on Tuesday that such actions were not “isolated” events. Mr. Washington, who led a disaster survivor assistance team in Highlands County, claimed similar practices occurred in North Carolina and South Carolina after hurricanes Helen and Milton.
