Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma International Airport announced the launch of the Airport Passport Program in partnership with the Arizona Pilots Association.
The airport further states that Yuma International Airport in San Luis and Rolle Airfield will receive the program.
Specifically, the program facilitates general aviation use of Arizona’s 56 public strips and airports. At the same time, the program will help pilots improve safety and education in planning trips to various airports and managing VFR weather conditions.
Airport Director Gladys Brown said: It’s a great opportunity for people to visit and enjoy our community. “
“What makes the Arizona program unique is that instead of paper passport books and inked stamps,
Simply scan the QR code on the posted placard using the Fly AZ app to join.
It is automatically recorded as visiting a specific place. ‘ continued Brown.
Additionally, the program is open to all FAA-licensed pilots to download the Fly AZ app, designed for iOS and Android phones, on the App Store and Google Play.
Those who participate in the program receive awards for each level achieved.
