Former NFL Punter Chris Kluwe Arrested For Protesting ‘MAGA’

Former NFL punter Chris Kluwe was arrested Tuesday after protesting at the California City Council’s Huntington Beach.

Kruwe had protested the city’s choice to set up plaques in public libraries with the words “magic”, “charming”, “galvanizing”, and “adventurous”. In footage from the city council meeting, Kruwe criticized the Maga movement while the meeting was taking part in public debate. Kruwe blows it up as a “Nazi movement” and then continues to say that he will commit civil disobedience.

When Kluwe arrived before the public debate where the council was sitting, police arrested him and kicked him out of the building.

Kluwe, now 43, played in the NFL from 2005 to 2013, and spent most of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. He also did some quick stints with both the Seattle Seahawks and the Oakland Raiders at the time.

At the end of his football career, Kruwe argued that his team didn’t want to sign him, due to his political stance, characterized by same-sex marriage support and homophobic criticism in the NFL.
