Former Clinton pollster Mark Penn said on Fox News on Monday that he was disgusted by former President Joe Biden’s last-minute pardons for his family.

Biden granted a series of pardons to several members of Congress and their families on Monday, some of which were announced minutes before President Donald Trump was sworn into office. On Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier,” Baier asked Penn for his thoughts on the pardons granted to five members of Biden’s family. Mr Baier said Mr Penn seemed “pretty disgusted” by the reaction on social media. “Yes,” Penn said. “These last-minute pardons are coming after all the elections are over, before any legal proceedings have taken place, and after hiding and lying about everything that happened related to Biden’s business, your family It was given to me even.”

Before Trump took office, the former president pardoned his brother Frank, his other brother James, James’ wife Sarah Biden, and his sister Valerie Owens and her husband John Owens. In a statement about the decision, Biden wrote that the pardon was granted because “a baseless and politically motivated investigation has caused harm.”[ing] wreaking havoc on the lives, safety, and economic security of targeted individuals and their families. ”

James Biden was connected to Biden’s son Hunter through business deals with overseas partners. He received millions of dollars in compensation from a Chinese energy company called CEFC to help secure energy deals in the United States, according to former CEFC officials who testified to lawmakers in January 2024.

As for Frank Biden, he allegedly used the former president’s name to promote his business and secure a contract from Florida officials for a fledgling charter school business he was asked to lead. According to Go to ABC News. Mr. Frank later made hundreds of thousands of dollars for allegedly using Mr. Biden’s name during his five years at the company, the report said.

Biden’s pardon for his family comes after the former president pardoned Hunter in December, even though he and his staff had said they would not pardon him.
