The suspect was taken into custody after allegedly found several 55-gallon drums.
Yavapai County, Arizona – Two burglars accused of sucking up stolen gallons of gasoline have been taken into custody over the weekend in Yavapai County.
Volunteers from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of two suspicious vehicles in Humboldt on March 29th. The vehicle description says it matches the vehicle description that was involved in the area’s recent fuel theft.
The vehicle left the area, one of them was later discovered by deputies of Highway 69. The deputies carried out a traffic stop and found a pump and hose in the storage box.
Other vehicles are also located, and lawmakers are said to have discovered several 55-gallon drums that emit the smell of gasoline.
Two men, ages 36 and 42, are in custody and face charges of theft and criminal damage. The sheriff’s office is said to be involved in stealing thousands of dollars worth of gas from several gas stations in Yabapai County.
The suspect is believed to have been involved in fuel theft dating back to 2019 in other states. Their names have not been revealed.
