A Yavapai County man is facing multiple charges after a young girl accused him of sexually abusing her, police said.
Police said Michael Craig Andrew, 46, of Chino Valley, was charged with sexual abuse of a minor, lewd acts with a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child, voyeurism and indecent exposure.
Police said that around 8:24 p.m. Friday, police received a report from the Arizona Department of Child Safety that a 14-year-old female camper from Chino Valley had disclosed being sexually assaulted by a family friend at a church camp.
On Saturday, detectives interviewed the girl with a forensic interviewer from Yavapai Family Support Group, where she disclosed that Andrew had engaged in sexual contact with her on multiple occasions, police said. Further investigation by detectives determined there was probable cause to arrest Andrew, and he was booked into the Yavapai County Jail. Jail records as of Tuesday morning showed Andrew remained in custody.
