‘Gratuitous And Wrong’: Special Counsel David Weiss Slams Biden In Final Report

In a final report released by the Justice Department on Monday, Special Counsel David Weiss criticized President Joe Biden for calling the investigation into Hunter Biden tainted by “raw politics.”

Weiss said the investigation was “a thorough and fair investigation, not partisan politics.”

“Eight justices on the majority court rejected the argument that it was the result of selective or vengeful motives,” Weiss wrote. “Questioning these decisions and injecting partisanship into the independent administration of law undermines the very foundations that make America’s justice system fair and impartial. It undermines the public’s trust in the institution. is something that impairs [is] It is essential to maintaining the rule of law. ”

“Before Mr. Biden was sentenced in either case, President Biden pardoned his son for all criminal acts he had committed or may have committed over the past 11 years. In light of this pardon, cannot make additional charging decisions regarding Mr. Biden’s conduct during those 11 years. Therefore, it would be inappropriate to discuss whether additional charges are warranted,” Weiss wrote.

In June 2024, a Delaware jury found Hunter Biden guilty of three firearms felonies. Joe Biden said he would not commute his son’s sentence, but later pardoned him. He later said the judicial process unfairly targeted Hunter because of his family ties.

September 2023, Vice Paid Hunter Biden possessed a Colt Cobra firearm while under the influence of drugs and lied about drug use on gun purchase forms. Hunter Biden initially agreed to plead guilty to two minor tax crimes and sought a deal to avoid prison time for the firearms felony through a diversion agreement.

However, the agreement fell apart in July when District Judge Maryellen Noreika said she had concerns about the disclaimer clause in the agreement. Since Hunter Biden was indicted, the president and members of his team have consistently said the 82-year-old Biden has no intention of pardoning his son.
