Hackers Took Control Of Sydney Sweeney’s Phone And X Account: REPORT

Hackers reportedly took over Sydney Sweeney's Verizon phone number in early July and made changes to her account.

technology News site 404 The hackers reportedly posted photos of Verizon receipts online showing that her account had been hijacked and an account in her name had been defaced. They warned that the “Euphoria” star was likely “the victim of SIM swapping, in which hackers take over a target's phone number and redirect text messages and calls to a device controlled by the attacker.”

Sweeney's photo showed the iPhone and its box resting on top of the trunk of a Mercedes-Benz S550.

According to 404, the receipt read, “Hello, Sydney Sweeney. Thank you for your order.”

The date on the receipt in the image matches the date Sweeney's X account was hacked by someone who posted about cryptocurrency. Page 6.

“Ok, it's about time $sweeney goes live and gets his 100mc,” the hackers wrote on Sweeney's account.

“At 10mc, 10% of the supply will be incinerated,” they wrote in the message.

According to Page Six, the hackers' social media posts also included links directing users to a new Pump.fun meme coin that they claimed was created by the actress herself.

They told her followers that Sweeney would be “going live on Space soon” to show them “what Sweeney can do.”

According to Page Six, the “White Lotus” star regained control of her account relatively quickly and was quick to delete the messages posted by the hacker. (Related article: “Sorry about my boobs”: Sydney Sweeney appears to hit back at critics)

Sweeney is one of many stars who have been targeted by crypto scammers and hackers. Other celebrities who have had similar experiences include 50 Cent, Doja Cat, Rich the Kid and former wrestler Hulk Hogan, according to Page Six.
