The House Oversight Committee wrote letters to four senior Biden officials, giving names to former spokesperson Carine Jean Pierre and former chief of staff.

In his statement, Kommer accused the letter of targeting former President Joe Biden’s inner circle and misleading them, saying he would dismiss the commentary on his apparent mental decline as “satisfaction.” They gave these false stories points to progressive allies and the media.
“As part of an active investigation into his cognitive decline and concealment of potentially unauthorized enforcement behavior, we must listen to those who helped and bet this farce,” his statement added. In him letter To Jean Pierre, Comer wrote:
“You were not only close to the president every day, but you were “along with the ranks of top best friends of the president, like senior advisors Mike Donilon, Steve Richetti and Bruce Reed.” You cannot investigate your claim that President Biden’s decline stems from tactics such as “cheap lies” and “misinformation”,” his letter added.
Comer requested that Jean-Pierre appear in the interview that was transcribed on August 18th.
In him letter For Bates, Comer also said in addition to serving in the Biden administration, Bates previously played a communications role between Biden’s 2020 campaign and the Obama Brewing Administration.
Comer writes that, with the exception of Jean-Pierre, Bates is one of Biden’s “most prominent public advocates” of cognitive fitness.
“Your scope of responsibility, both formal and other, personal interactions within the oval office, cannot go without research given the evidence that President Biden has been neutralised by many, if not all, of his single term,” Comer added.

With his letter zientsthe chairman described the Biden White House (under the leadership of Sient) as “confusing” as media coverage is increasingly focused on the president’s “psychic capabilities.”

“After the public report began to focus on the obvious decline in President Biden’s mental capabilities, you were confused and managed the White House,” the letter states.
“You reportedly called an all-staff call in July 2024.” [you] He urged President Biden’s team to unite and move forward from Biden’s terrible debate performance.[.]”The scope of your responsibility – formal and anything else – and personal interactions within the oval office cannot go without research,” Comer continued.
The letter requires that the former Chief of Staff appear in a transcribed interview on September 3.
Chairman letter Sams details his position at the White House law firm in the last two years of the Biden administration.
Sam described it as a “first-stage line of defense” in managing the administration’s response to negative reports, and reports on the “accidents” reported by Biden.

SAMS is being asked to appear in an interview that was transcribed before the committee on August 11th.
Neela Tanden on Tuesday allowed the committee to use the automatic era, but was told it was uncertain who gave the final approval, according to a statement from the chairman.

Biden administration aides Ashley Williams and Annie Tomasini will also be taking part in the transcribed interviews.
In a statement released Wednesday, Comer criticized Bernal for withdrawing from his testimony despite initially agreeing to appear voluntarily, and accused him of avoiding accountability now that enforcement privileges have been lifted. Comer summoned Jill Biden’s longtime aide, Anthony Bernal, on Thursday after failing to voluntarily appear before a committee on investigation into President Biden’s cognitive decline.
Comer ordered Bernal to testify before the committee on July 16th.
