Human remains found in Mohave County identified

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Skeletons found last December in a remote desert area two hours from Las Vegas have been identified.

According to the Mojave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the body was found on Dec. 4, 2022, in the remote desert area of ​​Yucca, in the Mojave County city near Alamo Road, following a report of a body wrapped in a tarp. It was discovered by responding police officers. and Boriana Mine Road. The body was taken to the Mojave County coroner’s office, but the victim could not be definitively identified.


On February 21, 2023, detectives from the MCSO’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) turned to Osram for assistance. Samples taken from the remains were submitted to conduct genetic genealogical studies, resulting in positive identification.

With the help of Osram, MCSO detectives identified the body as Brandon Ray Parlanti, 50, of Kingman, Arizona, the MCSO announced on July 12.
