Road closures come after several days of ice and snow predicted for northern Arizona. First Alert Weather Team meteorologist Ian Schwartz said the situation was getting worse as the snow continued to fall. A wave of snow could add about 3 feet of snow in some local areas by the time the storm clears Wednesday morning.
Scott Overton, City of Flagstaff’s public works director, said the weather over the next few days would be perfect for relaxation and hot cocoa. Please, most of the highways are open, but Neighborhood Services are not open and conditions will not generally improve in the next 6-8 hours.”
More school closures are expected next week due to weather conditions. Check out the First Alert Weather Radar Loop for the next 12 hours to find out what happens to the state.
