Democrat Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett confirmed in an interview Sunday that she prioritizes laws that resist President Donald Trump.

“I’m about to pass.” Um, I should probably be a better politician and say, “Yes, we have all the amazing laws that you can absolutely imagine Donald Trump signing the law.” I’m not just a Gon,” Crockett said. “Now, I think it’s about maintaining our basics and retrieving some norms. The norms that make sure people have food at the table, the norms that make sure people don’t experience any extra stress when it comes to understanding education for their children.”
“So now, I’m not trying much to consider to you, unfortunately, that I am a progressive train,” she continued. “I’m now making sure that I can minimize the return trains and hope that my district is grateful that they are honest with them.”
NBC News polls and CNN/SSRS polls also revealed Democrats who were published on the same day had a low popularity rating of 27% and 29% among voters. At the same time, CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said voters are even worse perceptions of Congressional Democrats than their party, according to a segment on Monday.
“The view of Holy Toledo, ‘Voters’ Congressional Democrats: “Of all voters, we disapprove 68%,” Enten said. “And looking at the approved figures, it’s only 21%, even lower than the Democrats as a whole. That’s the lowest for Democrats, according to the Kinnipiac University vote.”
Enten also said “a large number of Democrats have disapproved Democrats in Congress by 49%, with only 40% accepting,” explaining the number as “terrifying” by the party.
Crockett’s approach is not unique to her. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer said Wednesday that the Democrat’s role was to reduce Trump numbers to ease the president’s ability to achieve his agenda.
“We are fighting on every front to chase after Trump, and Democrats tend to do, especially when they have enemies like Trump. [House Minority Leader] Hakeem [Jeffries] And I’m working on this very closely… that Trump is taking things from the middle class to pay for the rich people’s tax cuts,” Schumer said.
“And we have so many different areas to chase after him. And we’re already defeating his numbers. We’re going to keep defeating them more and more,” he continued. “If you know, if his numbers are really low, he’s not only less popular, but he’s got less authority. That’s our job and we’re doing it.”
