South Carolina Democratic Rep. James Clyburn on Friday rejected polls showing President Joe Biden is losing support among Black voters.
Multiple polls have pointed to a decline in Biden's popularity among black voters, signaling a change from 2020, when he won 92% of the vote. When GMA3 co-host Eva Pilgrim mentioned the apparent drop in approval ratings, Clyburn fired back. “When I see this, it worries me,” Clyburn told Pilgrim. “Even if there is any truth to this number, I don't believe it. I talk to black people all the time. I have three black daughters. They tell me different things. My grandchildren say different things.”

GenForward poll offered According to Politico magazine in December, only 63% of black voters supported Biden in the 2024 election, while 17% said they supported former President Donald Trump. CNN's 2020 exit poll found that Trump was supported by 12% of black voters, a change from the level of support he received in 2020.
A separate New York Times poll of six battleground states conducted in early November found that Mr. Biden trailed Mr. Trump in more diverse states. Trump's approval rating among black voters increased by 22 points, a result the NYT said was “unseen in modern Republican presidential politics.”
“I don't know where that number came from,” Clyburn continued. “When you ask a question, when someone forms an opinion based on incomplete information or misinformation, and the other person appears to be good at misinformation, we know what happened in the last election. . They didn't stop when the election was over. It's still going on. There's a lot of misinformation here. There's a lot of things being said that aren't true.”
Polls show that Hispanic voters are also starting to turn away from Biden, with many believing their economic situation will improve if Trump returns to office.
