George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said Thursday that the release of documents detailing bribery allegations involving President Joe Biden proved necessary for a special counsel.

The document details what a “confidential human source” (CHS) told the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in June 2020, saying that Burisma executives felt “under pressure” to pay the Bidens. “The interesting thing about this story is that things are getting worse by the day. You know, one of the most interesting things we’ve seen in the last few weeks is Bill Barr being interviewed, and Barr said he never stopped the investigation, but added that he sent a report to the U.S. Attorney’s Office saying he had discovered a fact the FBI had overlooked,” Turley told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “Well, that alone was a little creepy.”

“The FBI has sources saying Biden has received millions of dollars, but we now know that this was money reportedly owed to Hunter for protection from his father,” Turley continued. “I mean, it can’t get any more serious, but when Mr. Barr sent this document to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which was not intended for criminal investigations, he said he found further material that the FBI had overlooked. It was then sent to Delaware, where he apparently died.”

“Not only has the past two years been an impregnable case for the special counsel, but Garland has demonstrated the need for a special counsel,” Turley told Ingraham. “Every decision he made went against giving transparency and taking action against these allegations.
“Mr Garland’s reluctance to make the appointment is baffling at best,” Turley continued. “I mean, the president is familiar with these files.
