“She's using the rallies as interviews. No, no, that's not the same thing. You have to go out there and fight fire with fire. He has 34 felony convictions, two impeachments, multiple civil lawsuits, yet he's showing up everywhere. He gets out there and he's showing up everywhere,” Smith said. “And he brings up the Ukraine war, he brings up the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza and other places, he brings up what's going on at the border, what's going on in this country. And he's saying, 'Where is she?'”

“He's doing it on purpose, because it's misogynistic and he's trying to imply, 'I'm a man, I'm strong, I'm willing to show up and fight. Where is she?' You can't answer that question by not showing up,” he continued. “It's working out great now, but don't get me wrong… it's not going to work out. She has to show up and show up just like him. Wherever he goes, she has to show up and say, 'I'm here, let's do this together.' She has to treat him like he's hiding, like, 'You need to run from me, not the other way around.' She has to do that.”

Since launching her campaign on July 21, Harris has spoken from a script, given only one interview and participated in one presidential debate, and has not held a formal press conference during her campaign. According to To Fox News.

“If they don't, they'll jump on the Biden bandwagon,” Smith said. “They'll see what he's avoided and say, 'You're copying that strategy. The Democrats forced you to do it.' That's not the right way to go about it, and it'll be an excuse for a lot of people to say, 'We're living in tough times. I think he's tougher. We want to go in that direction.' That's his only strategy.”

Democratic strategist James Carville suggested on a podcast on Thursday that Harris should mix “scripted” and unrehearsed questions during her public appearances to make herself look better, while avoiding making it “obvious” that she had prepared for some questions.
