Jack Daniel’s Scraps DEI Initiatives In Alleged Fear Of Boycott, Activist Claims

The maker of Jack Daniel's whiskey has reportedly announced it will cut back on its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts, fearing a possible boycott from conservative activists.

Brown-Forman, the parent company of Jack Daniel's, recently announced it was significantly scaling back its DEI efforts. According to The company argues that the changes are necessary to adapt to a changing business and legal environment, according to a screenshot of a statement obtained by conservative activist Robbie Starbuck.

“Big news: The next company we're going to expose is Jack Daniels,” Starbuck claimed on Twitter. “They must have been tipped off because we were looking at employee LinkedIn pages. They just announced in advance they would be making these changes.”

The screenshots show that the next phase of the strategy includes several key changes to ensure the company's diversity and inclusion efforts continue to effectively support its business goals. These changes include linking “executive incentives” and “employee goals” more directly to “business performance,” removing certain employee and supplier diversity goals, ceasing participation in the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index survey, and rethinking training programs to align with the updated strategy.

A prominent conservative commentator and activist, Starbuck has become a leading voice in the movement against the “woke” policies promoted by major American brands, having recently garnered attention for her social media campaign targeting companies for their diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts.

One notable move by Starbucks was when it publicly criticized Harley-Davidson's DEI policy and called for a boycott if the company did not change course. According to screenshots obtained by Starbucks, Brown-Forman reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining an inclusive workplace, acknowledging the challenges ahead and highlighting its continued dedication to its core mission.
