America is in crisis. Tens of millions of our fellow citizens are disappointed, angry and frustrated with what seems to be the apparently liberal weaponization of government against us and the two-tiered justice system, and it has reached breaking point. Unless we find a way to overcome that frustration and ensure we win the next election, I fear that we will lose the republic we have long admired.

For over a decade now, I have traveled the country to meet, talk and work with activists who are making sacrifices to improve the lives of their families, neighbors and communities. I cried with them about their heartache and celebrated their victories together. I listened to them, shared their disappointments, and made their frustrations my own. Disappointment seems to turn into outright anger wherever I go. Activists shrug and shake their heads Shrug and shake their heads at breaking news. This news is riddled with evidence that our government is now being weaponized and deployed against us simply by the audacity to exercise our God-given and constitutionally protected rights.

As the leader of the nation’s largest Tea Party organization, I’ve spent my life targeting the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) scandal. I remember hearing outrageous stories about the abuse of individuals by the IRS, sharing them with members of Congress, and being told I must be wrong and that the IRS would never do such a thing, I remember feeling frustrated and shocked with disbelief.

When it turned out that I was right and they were wrong, the IRS not only could do it, they did it. I don’t remember ever feeling like I won a publisher’s clearinghouse sweepstakes.

I’m still waiting for someone to take responsibility for the outrage. Mr Lois Lerner A systematic and well-constructed campaign She was allowed to retire on full pay, denying her compatriots the right to pursue her own political ends. Two liberal Democratic senators, Dick Durbin and Sheldon Whitehouse, have suggested and encouraged the IRS to target their political opponents, and continue their despicable ways as senators. And President Barack Obama, who initially expressed anger when he learned of the IRS’ targeting and then oversaw an internal investigation that yielded no results, retired to a normal life as a former president, untainted by his reputation.

This was just the first recent example of government weaponization with no one held accountable, and was evidence of a two-tiered justice system.

There was another example of a two-tiered structure years later when Hillary Clinton was not charged for her willful attempt to circumvent federal records-keeping laws and her apparent mishandling of classified information.

It was only a few months after that episode that we saw the next major example of the weaponization of government by liberals against conservatives. The FBI launched the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into the Trump campaign for alleged “collusion” with Russia, followed by years of special counsel investigations, followed by multiple congressional investigations aimed at rooting out the “collusion” allegations. Are any of them held accountable? Former FBI Director James Comey is a writer and talk show whiz. John Brennan, James Clapper, and Andrew McCabe are all regular appearances on liberal cable talk shows, and no one questions the legitimacy of their political analysis, even though they’ve been proven terribly wrong on so many basic things.

Dating back to the present, we see two layers of further evidence, as an IRS whistleblower, and now an FBI supervisor corroborating a key element of the whistleblower story, alleges political interference in the investigation of a member of the president’s family, and a deliberate effort by the U.S. Assistant Attorney’s Office to protect the president himself from potential criminal investigations.

Of course, on the other side of the books, a former president (and a leading presidential candidate from the other party) is about to be indicted—again! — by the Department of Justice, whose senior officials are appointed by and report directly to the incumbent president seeking re-election.

And let’s not forget last week’s revelations that, after a full seven-day investigation, the Secret Service announced that its “investigation” into a bag of cocaine found in the White House had ended without a suspect identified. And last week, White House press secretaries who promised the Secret Service to “find out the truth” said the White House was happy.

Enough to pull your hair out, really.

I don’t know if I can correct these mistakes. Even if we win the next election, we may find that the staunch opposition buried deep within the permanent bureaucracy is so large, so well-positioned, and determined to oppose the will of the people that we may be fighting for our lives to make the changes we desperately need.

But i know this. Unless we find a sure way to win the next election, we won’t even have a chance to try. (Related: Laura Hollis: Arrogance Is Ruining America)
