Hey Joe… what do you get?
The Las Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Florida Panthers in five games Tuesday night to win the 2023 NHL Stanley Cup, and President Joe Biden congratulated the team on Wednesday afternoon. But Biden managed to piss off the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces at the All-Star Game in the process.
The president (well, his social media team, let’s be real here) took to Twitter on his POTUS account to congratulate the Golden Knights on winning.[t]He became the first major professional franchise in such a proud American city. ”
There was just one problem. The Aces are actually the first major his professional franchise to bring the championship to Sin City. win the title in 2022 — something Biden completely ignored when it happened and still hasn’t admitted to this day. No tweets, no invitations from the White House, nothing.
Biden tweeted:
happy vegas fluffy He participated in the Stanley Cup for the first time in just six seasons. The first major professional franchise in such a proud American city.
Now the team and the whole community are champions.

This caught the attention of Ace All-Stars Aja Wilsonin response, accused Biden of giving his team no ratings.
“Twitter does not allow quotes from the president’s tweets… BFFR, when is the reason for our visit to the White House…,” Wilson tweeted.

Hmm… this is a bit confusing.
Biden met with the 2021 Seattle Storm as they won the WNBA championship, but has never acknowledged the Las Vegas Aces. Aja Wilson has a right to be angry here. Seriously, where are their tweets?
This is actually the weirdest of all. (Related article: Yankees’ Isiah Kiner-Falefa shows incredible speed as he takes home in a wacky Subway Series inning against the Mets.)
But good luck, ladies! And keep rockin’ on to Las Vegas! (recognise your championship here)
Plus, I’m a fan of Kelsey Plum and Candace Parker, so I guess I’ve become an Ace fan as a result.
Go Ace! (Until Miami gets the team, if at all)
