Maisie Biden texted her father, Hunter Biden, on Oct. 31, 2018, regarding her early application to UPenn. “Today I applied to Penn for an early decision!!” she wrote. In the months that followed, Joe Biden and Hunter Biden met with Gutman in person to try and get Maisie into her school.
On Dec. 13, 2018, Joe Biden texted Hunter, saying, “I’m going to see President Gutmann tomorrow.” Shortly after, Joe Biden texted his son that he had a “great talk with Gutmann” and that “Maisy is still in the game.” for regular acceptance.
