Josh Hawley Discusses the True Purpose of the Pentagon’s Rebranding and Joe Biden’s Role in It

Hawley Supports Pentagon Name Change

Republican Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri expressed his complete support for the Pentagon’s initiative to change its name on Friday, during an interview with Fox News.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order that day, reverting “The Department of War” to its historical title, emphasizing its primary role of winning battles. During his appearance on “Ingraham’s Angle,” Hawley stated that this change was crucial to counter what he perceives as the ideological shift of the Biden administration and to realign military focus on its core goal: achieving victory.

“Absolutely,” Hawley responded when asked about his support for the initiative. “I’m all for getting this back on mission. We’re recruiting warfighters to defend America. We need to undo the past four years where Biden has turned the military into what seems like a giant seminar.”

He further criticized former President Biden for allowing the Pentagon to become a platform for progressive social policies rather than a military force dedicated to safeguarding the nation.

“They were performing transgender surgeries in military facilities. We were funding abortions for military personnel. It’s outrageous what kind of programs were paid for,” he stated.

Hawley sees the proposed name change as a step back to fundamental principles. “The military should be focused on protecting America. That’s the bottom line. I welcome this change,” he remarked.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth mentioned on Wednesday that restoring the Pentagon’s original name signifies a broader cultural shift within military leadership. He elaborated that the aim is to reshape the military’s mindset.

In recent weeks, Hegseth has emphasized military readiness, establishing a new unit called Joint Interagency Task Force 401, tasked with improving anti-drone operations across various branches of the military.

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll is spearheading efforts to enhance air defense, moving beyond a limited army-only approach, and utilizing more extensive resources. The Army has already tested crucial systems as part of Project FlyTrap, while drone warfare continues to evolve globally, with real-time exercises occurring in Poland.
