MSNBC host Joy Reid on Monday night denounced former President Donald Trump’s support among black and Hispanic voters, claiming it was creating a “swell of fascist ground.”
As the November election approaches, Trump is gaining support from both black and Hispanic voters, largely due to his stance on the economy and immigration. In her comments, Reid targeted black and Hispanic men and suggested that sexism played a role in their support for Trump. “In many ways, the disinformation campaign has been effective. Base Republicans now believe that President Trump should lose this election because Democrats are secretly manipulating the weather from their secret base in Alaska.” I believe in everything, up to and including nothing,” Reid said on the show. “He’s winning by a landslide. And some Democrats are starting to believe the disinformation. Have you noticed how the polls have shifted so sharply in Trump’s favor in recent weeks? On the topic of Hitler. Yet with the claim that a secret internal study shows President Trump is leading in every battleground state with a surge in black and Latino voters?”
“Yes, this race will be far too close,” Reed continued. “Unfortunately, there is a growing fascist base in some parts of this country, primarily among white men, and let me be clear, there is also a small scale among black and brown men. This happens to be a global phenomenon as women become more financially independent and seek positions of power.”
