Kat Sticklin Supports Wreaths Across America Program for Veterans in Graham County

The Graham County Board of Supervisors Meeting, which took place on August 15, 2025, included significant public comments from Cat Sticklin, who represents Wreaths Across America. Sticklin, also involved with the American Legion Auxiliary and the Girls State program, provided information about the initiative that honors veterans by placing wreaths on their graves.

She shared that the program has been approved to lay about 3,000 wreaths in 15 cemeteries across Graham County, with a total of 33 cemeteries identified as potential sites. Each wreath costs $17, and the organization plans to gather funds through community donations, including donation jars placed in various locations.

The Leasing Ceremony is expected to take place on the second Saturday of December, specifically December 13th this year, with the wreaths remaining until January. Sticklin emphasized the aesthetic appeal of the wreaths and their significance in honoring veterans.

During her remarks, Sticklin also touched on the development of the Graham County Civic Alliance, which has been active for four years and was founded three years ago. She called for volunteers to assist with the wreath placement efforts, given the number of locations involved.

The board expressed its support for the initiative, with members recognizing that the leases across the country are part of a community-oriented gifting program and committing to provide funding to back this effort.

While discussions continued, Sticklin’s presentation underscored the community’s dedication to honoring the collaborative spirit of veterans and local organizations.
