Katie Britt demands an end to financing sanctuary cities

Sen. Katie Britt Pushes Against Sanctuary Cities

US Senator Katie Britt, representing Montgomery, has raised concerns over sanctuary cities and their disregard for federal immigration laws. She, along with other Republican senators, believes it’s time for Congress to act and stop funding these cities, particularly highlighting Los Angeles.

“We have to say, ‘Enough is enough,'” Britt stated. “It’s hard to grasp why we keep providing federal funds to places that aren’t adhering to federal laws. Just think about it—it’s really straightforward.”

Her comments come in light of recent riots in Los Angeles triggered by a legal immigration issue. Britt emphasized the message that sanctuary cities send: “They imply that it’s acceptable to break the law, and that they won’t cooperate with federal authorities. It’s frankly absurd, and we can’t support that any longer.”

Britt also connected the dots between border security and terrorist threats, specifically pointing at Iran. “For four years, the Biden administration has allowed illegal Iranian aliens into our country. These open border policies not only jeopardize our communities but also pose a serious risk to national security,” she remarked.

In her view, addressing these issues is crucial not just for safety but for the integrity of the nation’s laws.
