Senator Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) is urging her colleagues across the aisle to reject the influence of the far left in shaping the mainstream political agenda.
She argues that Democrats have not grasped the key lessons from President Trump’s win last November, particularly regarding crime, immigration, the economy, and transgender women’s sports.
On “Alabama Morning News with JT,” Britt expressed her concerns, stating, “They are letting the far left dictate the agenda and control the party. This is precisely why we lost on November 5th. They want to maintain open borders, which seems reckless, funneling taxpayer money to individuals who are here illegally.”
Britt mentioned her support for Trump, highlighting a general desire among Americans for common sense policies.
“There’s a reluctance to address crime directly. People don’t want to say, ‘We need to ensure safety on our streets.’ Common sense seems to have vanished,” she remarked. “This has been a contentious issue over the past four years, with Americans realizing, ‘If we don’t secure the border, we risk our nation’s integrity.’ Everyone craves security and stability, yet they oppose actions that would ensure that.”
Additionally, Britt praised Trump’s recent efforts to combat crime in Washington, D.C.
“Thinking about the crime situation in D.C., Trump has spotlighted these issues for the public,” she noted. “He highlighted the alarming crime rates there, emphasizing that people must feel safe returning home. It’s personal for many.”
Britt believes Trump’s approach is unmatched by previous leaders.
“We need to address these problems. Trump is taking unprecedented steps, including over 1,000 arrests and the recovery of more than 100 illegal firearms. This action should have been taken long ago.”
