Kids at Hope host community event, local organizations participate

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Children from the Hope Yuma County Chapter also hosted a community event for children and their families on Saturday.

The event will “inspire, empower and transform entire schools, organizations, youth and communities to create an environment and culture in which every child can experience success … no exceptions!” It’s part of the Kids at Hope mission.

The non-profit Kids at Hope held an event at Joe Henry Memorial Park until 2:00 pm. The host provided hot dogs, free t-shirts and snacks. There were also some slides and bouncy houses.

Kids at Hope President Tim Hardy said why the event is important to Yuma County right now.

“Did you know? We believe that with all that is going on, this is a chance for children and their families to come together in a very safe environment. That’s what we are all about,” Hardy said. said.

The event was also attended by other local organizations such as the Yuma Humane Society, Yuma Police Department, and Arizona Western University.

Hardy said more than 700 people attended and expected 1,000 to attend.
