Kids Shouldn’t Be Forced To Read LGBTQ Storybooks, Supreme Court Rules

The Supreme Court on Friday had parents along with parents trying to pick their children out of needed LGBTQ storybook lessons.

In a ruling of 6-3, the majority ruled that parents were likely to succeed in their claim that the school board’s decision violated their first constitutional chief.

“Along with the decision of the board to introduce a ‘LGBTQ+’ storybook and withholding opt-out, it places an unconstitutional burden on parents’ freedom of exercise of religion,” Judge Samuel Alito wrote in a majority opinion. “Therefore, parents showed that they were likely to succeed in a free campaign request. Similarly, they were eligible for a provisional injunction as the completion of this case is pending.”

The Montgomery County Board of Education refused in March 2023 to allow parents to opt out of mandatory storybook measurements, including pronouns, transgender children and pride parades. My parents sued the district in May 2023.

Mahmoudv. Taylor is one of several religious liberal cases in which the judge has taken into consideration the term.

The Supreme Court unanimously held that Wisconsin’s denial of religious tax exemptions against Catholic charities violated the First Amendment. In the decision from May 4th to 4th, the judge left a ruling that would prevent the establishment of the country’s first public religious charter school.
