Former Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Thursday on Fox News that first lady Jill Biden acted as “presidential” throughout her term, much like her husband.

Jill Biden recently told The Washington Post that she was “disappointed” that former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not support Biden’s re-election as Democrats called for him to resign. “I’ll tell you about Jill. This is something I haven’t seen anywhere else during the president’s term. She was as president as Joe Biden,” McCarthy said. “She was in meetings you wouldn’t think about. I remember one time I was sitting in the dining room and Joe said something about taking us outside. She turned around and said, “No, they don’t want to go out.” She was a protector. ”

However, he declined to answer whether he still supported Biden’s candidacy. Opposition to Biden’s candidacy soon began, with nearly 40 party members calling on the president to resign.
Biden announced the end of his campaign by July 21, saying, “I believe it is in the best interests of our party and country to resign and spend the remainder of my term focused solely on fulfilling my duties as president.” ” he said. ” In an Aug. 6 interview, Pelosi denied her role in the reported presidential withdrawal and said she had not spoken to Biden since his announcement.
